rue Saint Vincent

The Lapin Agile started out as a hangout of assassins in the '20s and '30s; pictures on the walls depicted victims and targets. After considerable difficulty getting rid of this clientele, the new owner drew bohemian artists like Picasso, Utrillo, Braque, Modigliani, Apollinaire and Proust who became legends in their fields. The cabaret continues today. Its iconic frontispiece shows a rabbit eluding the cooking pot.
