Brittany

A notable bridge in Landerneau: In the Middle Ages bridges were like streets, lined with buildings (see Paris example bottom left). The Pont de Rohan, built in 1510 spans the river Elorn, replacing a wooden structure that dated back to the 12th century. Other 16th-17th century vestiges are around for the looking in Landerneau.
