soldiers who died in Vietnam at the Washington, DC, memorial.

As an American, you can't help but carry some of that guilt. Thankfully, the sanity of a few – followed by many – kicked in to protest the war, although late and after many mistakes. That this war "was lost at home" is the one thing I can be proud of.

A video at the memorial shows interviews U.S. soldiers 20 years later who had taken part. Some were haunted. One committed suicide. Others said they were carrying out orders and must live with it.
