Buddhist nun taking care of an orphan

We get to hold infants at this buddhist orphanage. State-run orphanages are not as good, says our guide, but this one seems well run. Girls at the orphanage cuddle and babysit newcomers.

The orphanage's gardens support a vegetarian diet. Lunch at the nunnery shows how they teach older kids hospitality/hotel/restaurant skills.

The Intrepid Foundation, offshoot of the group I went with, Intrepid Travel, supports like causes in countries where they go.

Even after 40 years of the war ending, babies deformed because of Agent Orange still need help. Royalties from one of the books I read before leaving, Laura Lam's Late Blossom, go to one of these orphanages.
