| On my own for the first time since leaving Tilarcara, I spent more time than expected in Salta, since all buses (one a day) to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile, were full until a few days later. Then there was the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile. I was 800 miles north of the epicenter and experienced no serious effects, although felt a five-second aftershock while on a trip to Cachi. |
