| The area is famous for its Percheron horses, a stocky, heavy duty breed. Prior to World War I, an average of 10,000 Percherons were shipped to the United States every year. But the war and the tractor put an end to the horse business. You still see a lot of these horses on farms spotted amid agricultural fields. |
