The idea for the trip originated around a swing concert at Chateau de Blavou in St. Denis Huisne. The bandstand is set up in front of the castle.

We stayed at le Gros Chene just outside Mortagne au Perche, the closest town. Denis and Brigitte Pasquert inherited the family farm and converted the dairy barn to a B&B with color-themed rooms. A cow's trough is part of the decor. One breakfast included Brigitte's freshly baked brioche bread.
