Huang means yellow and shan means mountain(s) in Chinese. A three-hour bus ride from Hangzhou/West Lake got me to Huangshan, the city which is the send-off point for the actual Yellow Mountain scenic area. Clouds that invariably collect amid pines, peaks and ravines along with stupendous sunsets and sunrises made it a high point literally and figuratively.
