The Belle Epoque
Paris, August 2014
The Belle Epoque exhibit about Paris at the turn of the century is aptly ensconced in the Petit Palais built, along with the Grand Palais, to show 1900 World's Fair exhibits and continues to host major art collections to this day. Attesting to what a grand old time everybody was having are pieces of the then newly introduced Art Nouveau, lavishly embroidered gowns the ladies wore, faultless Sevres porcelain, marble sculptures of Rodin and others. This one by Denys Puech was full length, in different colored marble. |
